the human eye is just better just better at compensating for lighting contrasts and distortions. the exception is when you need more light for a nebula or galaxy so you do a timed exposure. with a dobsonian mount i can't do exposures. i get trails even at 1-2 seconds.
so i'm sticking to objects in our solar system for now.
